wells-fargo-logoWells Fargo, the world’s largest bank by market value, has extensive operations in Houston. With 25 locations in the city proper, and many more in the surrounding areas, Wells Fargo’s community outreach potential is enormous. Though the company had some established sponsorships and events in the area, Wells Fargo was looking to build upon their in-person marketing opportunities.

Evaluation – What are we looking for? – What’s your situation?

Wells Fargo needed to get bankers in front of people at events across the city, but the added challenge of passing out branding materials and keeping a booth or tent stocked proved too much to manage with the bankers alone. The bank needed a branding partner with experience in activating events in diverse environments, and selected RMH to be their strategic partner in the Houston area.

Position – What did we find? – What’s the best solution?

To keep bankers in front of potential customers, RMH created an activation team to help facilitate events behind the scenes. By keeping Wells Fargo’s many marketing materials organized and accessible throughout events, personal bankers could spend more time securing new accounts and visiting with customers.

Create – How can we show you? – Let’s make it!

To keep things organized and active, RMH ran regular inventories of Wells Fargo’s marketing collateral. From foam cougar paws for University of Houston home games, to Spanish coloring books for Houston’s largest Hispanic Cultural festival, RMH kept quantities at the ready so Wells Fargo could activate an event at a moment’s notice. RMH’s highly trained staff also helped with events, manning games and activities, passing out materials, and interacting with customers as a part of the Wells Fargo brand.

Communicate – How can we show the world? – Shout it out!

RMH helped Wells Fargo with major events all across the city: The grand opening of The University of Houston’s new football stadium, The Festival de Mayo, UH’s Breast Cancer Awareness Softball game, UH Men’s basketball home games, and the Houston Vietnamese Community Festival. With each event, the Wells Fargo brand planted deeper roots in the community through personal interaction, fun activities, and lasting customer relationships.

Evaluation – The Results

The activation campaign has been a great success for Wells Fargo, with new customers signing up for accounts at nearly every event. The process has continued to evolve through both RMH and Wells Fargo, allowing bankers unprecedented access to potential clients while background activities are handled out of sight and out of mind. Wells Fargo continues to partner with RMH in bringing a high quality event activation experience to the Houston area.
